Visions Video is a volunteer-run, member-supported, non-profit video store. We’re a community resource with a unique library, educational initiatives, and a vested interest in our local cultural ecosystem.
Our store, to the customer, looks and feels much like video stores have for the last 30 years — but built by the community from the ground up, with outreach, public screenings, lectures, and more.
We aim to create a welcoming space with an expansive and unrivaled collection of DVDs, Blu-Rays, and rare VHS with a broad mix of classics, new releases, international cinema, documentaries, queer cinema, experimental cinema, and much more.
We’re currently building the collection and welcome your donations.
We are opening a temporary pop-up location in Downtown Northampton. We’ll use this space to begin collecting donations and signing up members. We are scouting for a permanent location.
Do you have a space that could be the permanent home of Visions Video?
Non-profit: Our non-profit status has been approved (after years of work) — which means we’ve begun fundraising, accepting donations, and applying for grants. And we can keep our membership fees low and accessible.
Volunteer-run: Our small behind-the-scenes staff is entirely volunteer. We believe in this vision being accessible to all. We have an administrative board, an advisory board, and are currently building our in-store volunteer network.
Member-supported: We charge a small monthly fee to keep our doors open. We are researching a model where we could eliminate fees entirely and become supported solely through fundraising, grants, and donorship.
